Harvest of the Season - APPLES!
Harvest of the Season brings local farm produce into classrooms along with a fully equipped cooking kit. Teachers follow the curriculum provided to make a delicious, seasonal recipe while teaching children about the nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables.
This program is appropriate for grades K-6 and beyond. In each Harvest session students will:
- Follow a recipe and measure ingredients to prepare and eat healthy snacks.
- Read stories and view pictures from local farms to learn where their food comes from.
- Analyze recipe ingredients and complete supplemental activities in math, writing and science to learn about the nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables.
