Darcy Batura has managed several education and outreach programs for WSU King County Extension since 2002. She is part of the Water, Land, Forests, Farms and Food (WLFFF) team. Her primary focus is organizing and leading educational events around waste reduction, compost, household hazardous waste and recycling topics.

Darcy organizes and facilitates an annual class series titled Tools for Resourceful Living, and provides technical assistance to various King County Department of Natural Resource and Parks programs and projects.  She has developed effective collaborative partnerships with agencies including; King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Washington Department of Ecology, suburban cities, Seattle Public Utilities, professional trade organizations, and others.

Darcy received her Bachelor’s degree in Community and Environmental Planning (Urban Planning) from the University of Washington, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Resource Management from Central Washington University.  She has served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Roslyn since January 2007.
