Martha joined WSU King County Extension in 2005. She is responsible for the programming, fiscal management, and 14 personnel of Food $ense—a federally funded nutrition education program for low-income individuals. Working primarily with children in the public schools, Food $ense teaches a gardening- and cooking- enhanced curriculum (CHANGE - Cultivating Health And Nutrition through Gardening Education) and other curricula in over 20 schools in King County, serving more than 3,000 children and their families annually.
