4-H Youth

Information for Adult Volunteers and Leaders

Volunteers are vital to 4-H Youth Development. They support the mission of 4-H to teach others and to enhance personal growth.

Many volunteers get involved in activities unfamiliar to them. Using resources available, a volunteer can gain a working knowledge of 4-H. Volunteers can become guides and resources to youth developing a partnership, which together, builds skills for the youth and adults! Volunteers are needed to work with youth or in a resource position within 4-H.

To volunteer in the 4-H program, contact 206-205-3152. Volunteers share a skill or talent, and work in encouraging and nurturing youth and in having fun on a regular basis.

Some examples of volunteer positions in the club program are

Club Leader:
Works with club officers to guide club meetings, recruiting and enrolling 4-H members and leaders and to offer guidance and leadership to club officers, project and activity leaders.
